SMIT Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting elderly individuals and vulnerable communities through care, shelter, dignity, and empowerment.
SMIT began with one woman, one intention, and a simple belief, that no person should be left without care, dignity, and support. What started with supporting neglected elderly individuals gradually expanded into caring for vulnerable communities.
Our Organization History
A journey shaped by care, resilience, and purpose.
Over the years, the foundation moved from Boisar to Wada, then Panvel, and today continues its work in Thane.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide holistic care for the abandoned elderly as our core priority. We complement this by empowering vulnerable individuals through shared living and skill development creating a self-reliant, nature-powered ecosystem where every generation finds dignity and purpose.

Founded by Yojana Gharat, the journey started with serving vulnerable individuals with whatever resources were available. Every step came with challenges, but also with the determination to continue serving those who needed help the most.
